The socket Across wrench cross wrench is a convenient, flexible and safe maintenance tool for removing bolts. Using a socket wrench is not easy to damage the corners of the nut. Choose the appropriate socket head according to the size of the working space, torque requirements and the size of the bolt or nut. The sleeve has a short tubular shape, and one end is hexagonal or twelve-angled, which is used to cover the bolt head; the other end has a square head hole, which is used to match the square tenon of the matching handle.

According to the torque of the bolt removed and the working environment used, the sleeve can be divided into three series: large, medium and small, and distinguished by the width of the square tenon of the matching handle. Common ones include 6.3mm series, 10mm series and 12.5mm series. If expressed in inches, they correspond to  series. In addition to the common standard sleeves, there are many special sleeves, such as hexagonal long sleeves, hexagonal or twelve-angle flower-shaped sleeves, pneumatic sleeves, screwdriver sleeves.

If the head is made of special-shaped bolts and nuts, a special sleeve must be used for disassembly. The depth of the hexagonal long sleeve is 3 times deeper than the standard sleeve, and it is one of the most commonly used modified sleeves in automobile maintenance work. Pneumatic impact sleeves are specially used with pneumatic impact wrenches. If ordinary sockets are used, the pneumatic impact wrenches will produce instant strong impact when working, which may damage the sleeves.

The special pneumatic sleeve is made of special chromium steel alloy, and the wall thickness is increased in the production process, the strength is reduced, the toughness is enhanced, so that it can adapt to the harsh working environment. The square tenon part of the pneumatic impact wrench is designed with an O-shaped locking ring to prevent the sleeve from being thrown out of the pneumatic wrench during work.
